Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randall Swain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swain comes to the cage accompanied by Boston - More Than a Feeling. Jones has chosen Hoist the Colours as his entrance music. Randall Swain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Randall Swain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Jones!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swain misses with a wild body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Swain. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Good leg kick by Jones there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Jones works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Swain lands a slapping body shot.
Swain circles away from the clinch attempt.
A combination from Jones does no damage.
Nice sprawl there from Swain as Jones shoots in.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Swain which made him look bad.

Swain clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.

Swain is looking to control Jones's arms but Jones gets an underhook and turns him. Now Swain has his back to the cage.

Swain wants the takedown. Jones is fighting it off but Swain persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jones's guard against the cage.
Jones looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Swain puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Jones wants to improve his position but Swain is controlling well.

Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jones can't keep his opponent in guard - Swain advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Jones tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Swain has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Swain throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Swain lands with some strikes.
Swain fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones manages to regain half guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Swain lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.

Randall Swain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Jones.

Swain closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jones quickly recovers to half guard.
Swain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Swain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
Swain slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead.

Jones tries to roll over but Swain keeps him under control.
Swain misses with a head shot. Jones uses the momentum to regain guard.

Jones is staying active underneath Swain, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Swain thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Swain connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

Swain is looking to stall here but Jones recovers full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Swain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Swain sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Swain closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones did well to prevent Swain getting side control.
Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones.
Swain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Swain is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Swain wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Swain lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Jones has an active guard here but Swain has managed to pass into half guard.
Swain lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Swain wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.
Swain trying to mount his opponent but Jones defends it.
Jones trying to get back to full guard but Swain takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Jones can't escape the position.
Swain lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Randall Swain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Swain punishing his opponent with strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oooh a big shot lands for Swain! Jones is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
