Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Abro Brodan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Nakahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abro Brodan had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Abro Brodan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brodan loads up on a big right hand but Nakahara slips the punch.
Abro Brodan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brodan misses with a takedown attempt - Nakahara sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Brodan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nakahara as he jumps to the side.
Brodan misses with an uppercut.
Brodan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nakahara circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abro Brodan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brodan pulls out of a head kick attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brodan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nakahara manages to avoid it.
Brodan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nakahara is fending him off so far but Brodan persists. Nope, Nakahara circles away and we're back to standing.
Nakahara changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brodan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nakahara thows a huge punch but Brodan dodges it nicely.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Brodan is staying active underneath Nakahara, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nakahara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brodan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nakahara lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Nakahara thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brodan's head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Brodan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Nakahara counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brodan won't be happy with that.

Nakahara feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Brodan tries to kick Nakahara off but Nakahara keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Brodan has a closed guard, preventing Nakahara from standing up.

Brodan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nakahara's guard.
Nakahara escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brodan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brodan has gone for a leg lock! Nakahara slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brodan's guard.
Brodan controls Nakahara momentarily but Nakahara frees himself.

Nakahara is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Brodan as he works his way to full guard.
Brodan looking for a triangle here. Nakahara is fighting it but it looks tight! Brodan pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Nakahara is tapping out - this one is all over!
