Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mordolej Wpierdolinsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Keny Boxer! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boxer throws a lazy right hand but Wpierdolinsky sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Wpierdolinsky. Boxer takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Wpierdolinsky advances nicely into full mount. Wpierdolinsky gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Wpierdolinsky shoots in and gets a takedown into Boxer's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wpierdolinsky trying to control but Boxer is working from the bottom. Wpierdolinsky pushing down on Boxer's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Wpierdolinsky seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Boxer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wpierdolinsky in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wpierdolinsky thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boxer's head. Wpierdolinsky decides to stand and escape the position. Wpierdolinsky shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Wpierdolinsky decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Wpierdolinsky feints and as Boxer raises his hands in defense, Wpierdolinsky changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wpierdolinsky looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wpierdolinsky controls the pace of the fight for a moment. This has been an exciting period of action! Wpierdolinsky trying to control but Boxer is working from the bottom.
Mordolej Wpierdolinsky has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Boxer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wpierdolinsky. Wpierdolinsky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Wpierdolinsky looking to control and managing it successfully. Wpierdolinsky thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wpierdolinsky is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Boxer to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Boxer shrugs it off. Boxer wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Wpierdolinsky.
Wpierdolinsky looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wpierdolinsky wants to finish this one by submission but Boxer is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wpierdolinsky.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wpierdolinsky has hold of Boxer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Boxer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wpierdolinsky gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mordolej Wpierdolinsky dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Boxer misses the shot to the body. Wpierdolinsky decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Boxer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wpierdolinsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wpierdolinsky is keen to just control but Boxer is a slippery customer. Wpierdolinsky sitting and controlling from the half guard. Wpierdolinsky wants to work for an arm triangle but Boxer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wpierdolinsky wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boxer keeps working.

Mordolej Wpierdolinsky has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Wpierdolinsky looking for a takedown here - he's got it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wpierdolinsky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Wpierdolinsky thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Wpierdolinsky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wpierdolinsky sitting in guard, not really doing much. Wpierdolinsky wants to control from the top but Boxer keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wpierdolinsky passes Boxer's left leg - he's now in half guard. Boxer is defending against the submission attempts here by Wpierdolinsky.
Boxer is staying active underneath Wpierdolinsky, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wpierdolinsky is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Boxer defends it well. Wpierdolinsky wants to control but Boxer is keeping him busy. Wpierdolinsky takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Mordolej Wpierdolinsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wpierdolinsky trying to control from Boxer's half guard. Boxer has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Wpierdolinsky wants to control from the top but Boxer keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mordolej Wpierdolinsky wasn't doing enough on the ground. Boxer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wpierdolinsky on the side of the head. Keny Boxer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wpierdolinsky lands with a slapping head kick. Boxer misses with a straight right. Nice body punch from Boxer. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wpierdolinsky throws out a powerful jab. Boxer misses with the combination.
Boxer throws a lazy right hand but Wpierdolinsky sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Wpierdolinsky ducks right into an uppercut from Boxer. Boxer sizes up Wpierdolinsky with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Wpierdolinsky closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wpierdolinsky seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Boxer is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
