Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Meraz!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacare closes this distance looking for a takedown but Meraz circles away.
Meraz tries to clinch but Jacare moves out of range.
Jacare shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Meraz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Romero Jacare. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Meraz.
Meraz misses with a head kick.
Jacare defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Meraz.
Meraz lands a head kick!
A head kick misses from Meraz.
Jacare fails with a takedown attempt.
Meraz fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Meraz throws a head kick but Jacare moves out of range.
Meraz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Meraz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Meraz shoots in looking for a takedown. Jacare tries to sprawl out of it but Meraz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jacare manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Meraz darts in trying to clinch

and Jacare counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jacare is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Meraz wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Jacare's hips, looking to push off. But Jacare grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Meraz screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Romero Jacare!
