Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Fishir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Herman!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fishir throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Herman's waist but Herman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fishir off to one side.

Herman closes the distance and clinches.

Herman breaks from the clinch.
Herman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fishir.
Herman throws a sloppy head kick and Fishir moves out of range easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Herman tries to clinch but Fishir moves out of range.
Fishir lands a jab to Herman's midsection.

Fishir closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fishir avoiding damage as Herman throws knees to the body.
Herman lands a hook that snaps the head of Fishir backwards.
Fishir slowing the pace effectively.
Fishir has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Herman misses with a knee strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Herman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dave Herman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Herman swats away the attempt to clinch by Fishir.

Fishir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Herman is fending him off so far but Fishir persists. Nope, Herman circles away and we're back to standing.

Fishir gets tackled into the cage by Herman. Herman maintains the clinch.

Herman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Herman darts in and clinches Fishir up against the cage.

Herman breaks from the clinch.
Herman thows a body shot but no joy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fishir tries to clinch up but Herman circles away and keeps his distance.
Herman is looking to clinch but Fishir is avoiding it.
Herman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fishir manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Herman wants to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Herman forces Fishir back against the cage and clinches.
Fishir blocks an elbow strike.
Fishir tries to circle away but Herman has him pinned against the cage.
Herman landing knees to the head.


It looks like Jon Fishir has been cut.
Fishir tries to pull guard but Herman holds him up against the cage and eventually Fishir drops back down to his feet.
Nice body punch from Herman.

Herman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Herman rushes Fishir and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fishir stalling in the clinch but Herman improves position.
Herman slows down the pace here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Herman throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Herman cracks Fishir with a nice body shot.
Herman has Fishir pressed against the cage.
Herman throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Herman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Herman closes the distance and pushes Fishir back into the cage.
Herman trying to land knees to the body.

Herman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick misses from Fishir.
Fishir swats away the attempt to clinch by Herman.
Herman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fishir manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Herman misses with a series of wild punches.

Herman clinches up with Fishir and pushes him back against the cage.
Herman pushes off an throws an elbow but Fishir leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Fishir tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Herman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Herman fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dave Herman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Herman tries to close the distance and clinch but Fishir swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Herman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fishir paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Herman clinches up with Fishir and pushes him back against the cage.
Herman controlling the action here for a moment.
Fishir tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Herman just stands there and leans against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Herman stops a takedown attempt from Fishir.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Herman dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jon Fishir's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Herman tries to clinch up but Fishir circles away and keeps his distance.

Herman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fishir is working for takedown but Herman is calmly controlling the position for now.

Herman breaks from the clinch.
Fishir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Herman is fending him off so far but Fishir persists. Nope, Herman circles away and we're back to standing.
Fishir misses with a takedown

and Herman counters with a left and a right that hurts Fishir! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Herman jumps into full mount!


Fishir is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Fishir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Herman stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Oh Fishir is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Herman closes the distance and pushes Fishir back into the cage.
Herman throws a big uppercut that drops Fishir! More strikes from Herman and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Fishir lies dazed against the cage as Herman celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Herman!
