Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Mondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adams has chosen Shake it as his entrance music. Nick Mondo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Mondo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Adams! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adams shoots in and bounces Mondo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Adams thows a big elbow that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Adams avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Adams trying to control the position from guard on top but Mondo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Adams being controlled here momentarily. Adams is pushing down on Mondo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mondo is fighting to maintain full guard but Adams has managed to sneak the leg through. Mondo is looking for a sweep. Adams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Adams tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mondo. Mondo looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adams not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Adams performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Adams is keen to just control but Mondo is a slippery customer. Adams tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mondo.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mondo doesn't manage to clinch there - Adams circles away.
Adams misses with a takedown attempt - Mondo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Adams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Adams looks gassed! Adams postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mondo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Adams loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Adams should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Mondo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Mondo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Adams tries to roll over but Mondo keeps him under control. Mondo stops Adams from getting back to his feet.
Mondo is looking to advance position but Adams won't allow it. Mondo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mondo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Nice strikes from Mondo there. Mondo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Adams wants to sweep but Mondo has passed to side control! Adams tries to buck Mondo off but Mondo is having none of it. Adams is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Adams moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Adams wriggles free and stands up. Adams shoots in looking for a takedown. Mondo tries to sprawl out of it but Adams keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mondo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kevin Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice takedown defense from Mondo. No joy for Adams on that attempt. Nick Mondo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Adams.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Adams tries for a takedown but Mondo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mondo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Adams as he avoids it easily. Adams misses with a head kick.

It looks like Kevin Adams has been cut. Mondo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Adams is still on wobbly legs! Can Mondo finish him? Adams doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mondo counters with a nice double leg into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Mondo controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Adams pulls Mondo in close to prevent any damage. Mondo sitting in guard here, content to control. Adams seems to have recovered his senses. Mondo wants to pass the guard but Adams is keeping the position. Mondo throws a big right hand that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Mondo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kevin Adams's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Mondo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Adams to the mat! Adams manages to get full guard. Adams keeping moving, preventing Mondo from controlling successfully. Adams controls Mondo momentarily but Mondo frees himself. Mondo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mondo advances position into side control! Mondo works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Adams manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Adams trying to mount his opponent but Mondo defends it. Adams wants to stand but Mondo has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Mondo is looking for a sweep. Adams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mondo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Adams is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mondo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Mondo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Adams! Adams wants to hold on but Mondo pushes him away. Adams slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Adams regains full guard. Nicely done. Adams looking for a sweep. Not yet Adams, not yet. Mondo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Mondo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mondo preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mondo sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adams bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mondo's guard. Adams advances to half guard. Mondo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Adams looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mondo flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Nick Mondo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Adams seems to be looking for submissions.
Adams seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mondo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Adams prevents Mondo from improving his position. Adams seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mondo throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Mondo moves into the clinch. Mondo avoiding damage as Adams throws knees to the body.
Adams throws a punch but it's blocked by Mondo. Mondo has picked Adams up - he's going for a ride! Mondo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Adams makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Adams wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Mondo jabbing away but nothing is landing. Adams darts in trying to clinch and Mondo counters with a head kick. Mondo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Adams checks the leg kick nicely there.
Adams keeps Mondo at a distance using the push kick. Nick Mondo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Adams scores a takedown into full mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Adams with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Adams stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mondo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Adams moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Adams cracks Mondo with a right hand to the side of the head. Mondo misses with a takedown and Adams counters with a solid body kick. Adams fails in his attempt to clinch. Mondo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Adams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mondo is controlling him. Adams preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Adams working a defensive guard here.
Adams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mondo wants to pass the guard but Adams is keeping the position. Mondo controls from within his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Mondo will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Kevin Adams's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Adams gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mondo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mondo. Mondo keeps control of Adams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Adams drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mondo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mondo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mondo throws a head kick that misses. Adams darts in trying to clinch and Mondo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Adams's guard now. Mondo tries to free his leg and advance position but Adams is retaining full guard. Adams pulls Mondo in close to prevent any damage. Adams working a defensive guard here.
Adams is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mondo preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mondo trying to control the position from guard on top but Adams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Adams is trying to control the position but Mondo postures up. Adams wants to get back to his feet but Mondo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Adams circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mondo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adams swats him away and circles back towards the center. A slapping leg kick lands for Adams.
Adams has his takedown stuffed and Mondo counters with a takedown into side control. Nick Mondo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Adams. You can see the frustration on Adams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. A lull in the action here as Mondo stalls from top position. Mondo lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mondo controlling from side mount. Mondo working the body and head with strikes. Mondo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Adams has escaped the position, nice work there. Mondo scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Adams to see if he's OK. Adams tries to improve position but can't. Adams manages to get back to half guard. Adams looking for submissions off his back. Adams is looking to control Mondo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Adams avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adams regains full guard. Nicely done. Adams looking for a sweep. Not yet Adams, not yet. Adams is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Adams wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mondo has him pressed against the cage. Adams drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mondo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mondo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mondo!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mondo moves into full mount! Mondo avoids the attempt from Adams to control. Adams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Adams is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Kevin Adams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Adams gives up his back whilst trying to strike.

And that's the end of the fight! Nick Mondo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mondo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
