Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jermaine Coffee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chew Backer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jermaine Coffee could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chew Backer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jermaine Coffee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Chew Backer! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Backer keeps the fight on the outside. Backer takes the fight into the clinch. Backer lands an elbow inside. Backer lands an elbow that stopped Coffee in his tracks for a moment. Backer stalling the fight.
Backer continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Coffee tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Backer jumps guard and drags Coffee to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Coffee wants to control from the top but Backer keeps moving. Coffee won't allow Backer to sweep him here. Backer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Backer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Coffee looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Coffee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Backer as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jermaine Coffee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Backer moves into the clinch successfully.

Backer tries to land a sweep but no joy. Backer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Coffee wants to stand and escape but instead Backer has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Coffee is breathing heavily.

Backer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Coffee tries to clinch up and Backer counters by moving into the clinch. Coffee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Coffee is trying to break free. Coffee wants a takedown.

Coffee wants to clinch but Backer slips to the side and Backer holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Backer with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Coffee is trying to break the clinch but Backer has him pressed against the cage. Backer has Coffee pressed against the cage.
Backer gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Backer winds up and cracks Coffee with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Coffee wants to improve his position but Backer is controlling well.
Backer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coffee pushes Backer off looking to stand but Backer dives back in and keeps control.

Backer is fighting to break Coffee's control of his arms but Coffee is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Coffee trying to strike off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Coffee keeping moving, preventing Backer from controlling successfully. Coffee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Backer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Backer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Coffee blocks the strikes from Backer.
Coffee trying to control the action but Backer is working from the bottom. Coffee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coffee trying to control from half guard but Backer is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A chopping leg kick lands by Backer. Coffee doesn't succeed with the takedown and Backer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coffee's guard. Coffee keeping full guard, as Backer tries to pass. Backer is in close to Coffee's body, working some short punches and elbows. Backer wants to control from the top but Coffee keeps moving. Backer content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Backer distracts Coffee with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Backer controls from within his opponent's guard. Backer postures up and lands a big shot to Coffee's brow. Backer wants to control from the top but Coffee keeps moving. Backer showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Backer passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coffee is looking for a sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Coffee taking punishment in the form of punches.

Coffee is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Backer works his way into full mount! Backer lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Backer has a closed guard, preventing Coffee from standing up. Coffee works over Backer with some ground and pound from guard. Backer wants to sweep but no luck. Coffee trying to stand up but can't free himself from Backer's guard. Coffee sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Backer's guard. Coffee tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Backer. Coffee trying to control the action but Backer is working from the bottom. Coffee tries to pass to full mount but Backer defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coffee is looking to stall here but Backer recovers full guard. Backer keeping moving, preventing Coffee from controlling successfully. Coffee won't allow Backer to sweep him here. Backer throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick misses from Coffee. Backer has closed the distance and engaged Coffee in a clinch.

Chew Backer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Backer fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Coffee, pushing him back against the cage. Coffee struggles to land a body shot inside as Backer controls his hands.

Backer wants the takedown. Coffee is fighting it off but Backer persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Coffee's guard against the cage. Backer controlling the position easily from mount. Backer looking for a guillotine from mount but Coffee is having none of it. Coffee is in all sorts of trouble here.

Coffee has his foot on Backer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Backer works his way back into a safe position though. Coffee can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Backer controls the pace. Coffee looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Backer keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Coffee's head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Backer landing with the ground and pound. Backer stays in close to Coffee's body and controls the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Chew Backer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Backer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
