Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Benny Green! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Green moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Green throws a hook but Diaz blocks it. Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz gets caught napping as Green dives in and scores a takedown. Diaz manages to retain guard. Diaz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Green defends well. Diaz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Green is aware though and is defending well. Green got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Green has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Green trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Green defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Green slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Diaz. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Green not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Diaz is trying to get back to full guard. Green is keen to just control but Diaz is a slippery customer. Green has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Diaz throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Diaz sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Diaz is looking for a sweep. Green is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Diaz has instead reached around Green's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Diaz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
