Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Avan Strash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirek Szymaniak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mirek Szymaniak will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Avan Strash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mirek Szymaniak!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szymaniak gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Strash scores with a jab to the head.
Avan Strash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Szymaniak circles away from the clinch attempt

so Szymaniak counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Strash utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Strash can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Szymaniak controls the pace.
Strash might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Szymaniak lands a couple of digs.
Szymaniak wants to pass the guard but Strash is keeping the position.

Szymaniak passes Strash's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Szymaniak perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Strash pushes Szymaniak off looking to stand but Szymaniak dives back in and keeps control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Szymaniak stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mirek Szymaniak was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Szymaniak will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Strash scores with a decent looking hook.
Szymaniak throws a low kick but Strash moves out of range easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Strash darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Strash connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Szymaniak fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Strash sprawls well initially but Szymaniak persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Strash won't allow Szymaniak to pass to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Szymaniak takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Szymaniak tries for a takedown but Strash sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Szymaniak walks into a left hand.
The fight stays on the outside here - Strash looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Strash connects with a good right hand that stumbles Szymaniak. Szymaniak circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Strash with a nice cross.
Nice jab there from Strash.
Szymaniak shoots in but Strash avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Avan Strash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mirek Szymaniak.
Strash paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Szymaniak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Strash sprawls well. Strash wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Szymaniak gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Szymaniak shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Szymaniak showed some decent athleticism there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Szymaniak not doing much here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mirek Szymaniak will probably get the nod.

Strash with a body punch. A glancing blow.
No luck for Szymaniak with that takedown attempt.
A nice leg kick lands there from Szymaniak.
Szymaniak walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Strash lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Strash works over Szymaniak's head and body with a nice combination.
Strash takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Szymaniak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Strash sprawls well. Strash wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Szymaniak gets slowly back to his feet.

Strash dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Strash connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Szymaniak shoots in but Strash avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Avan Strash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mirek Szymaniak.
Strash scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Strash defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Szymaniak.
Szymaniak takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Szymaniak is looking to score with low kicks.
Strash works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Avan Strash is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Strash getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Szymaniak looks for a takedown but Strash sprawls well.
Strash throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Szymaniak stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Szymaniak takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Mirek Szymaniak has been cut.
Szymaniak changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strash tries to avoid it but Szymaniak manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strash to the ground. Strash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Strash is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Szymaniak is breathing heavily.
Szymaniak tries for a takedown but Strash sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Strash scores with a nice right hand.
Strash's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Strash duly obliges.


Szymaniak is rocked!
Szymaniak gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Szymaniak tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Strash is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Szymaniak buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Szymaniak!! Szymaniak is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Strash throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Avan Strash!
