Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Forrest Gump! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller drives through with a takedown into Gump's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Miller lands a couple of decent looking shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gump wants to stand up but Miller is controlling him. Miller seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Miller seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gump for as long as he can get away with. Miller is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Miller scoring with some ground and pound. Gump is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miller is controlling him. Miller scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Gump is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gump being controlled here, momentarily. Miller wants to pass the guard but Gump is keeping the position. Miller won't allow Gump to sweep him here. Miller trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Darren Miller wasn't doing enough on the ground. A jab from Gump does it's job there. Sloppy strikes from Gump. Those never looked like landing. Gump tries to clinch up but Miller circles away and keeps his distance. Gump misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Miller gets the takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gump is trying to escape the position but Miller is controlling the position. Miller lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gump gets back to half guard. Miller passes to side control. The referee asks Miller politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Miller prefers to stall for the moment though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Miller advances to full mount. Miller punishing his opponent with strikes. Gump wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Gump looks gassed! Miller tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Gump in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gump can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Miller content just to control the position here. Gump squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Gump is trying desperately to improve position. Miller sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller prevents Gump from getting the reversal. Gump is trying to stand. Miller looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gump wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Miller with a couple of short strikes. Gump swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darren Miller dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Miller fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gump to the ground. Miller is now in Gump's guard. Miller postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Miller lands a couple of digs. Gump can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Miller controls the pace. Miller has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Darren Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gump is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miller is controlling him. Gump is breathing heavily. Miller looking to pass the guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Darren Miller. Gump tries to sprawl but Miller drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller slows the pace down in half guard. Ground and pound from Miller. Miller controlling the action here.
We're going to have a standup here because Darren Miller wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Gump tries to clinch up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gump thows a body shot but no joy. Gump pushes Miller up against the cage in a clinch. Miller is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Gump prevents the takedown attempt.
Miller will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gump up against the cage. Miller works on Gump's body with a couple of short punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gump stops a takedown attempt from Miller.
Miller tries to score a body lock takedown but Gump shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him. Miller is trying to drag Gump to the mat but Gump just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Gump is looking to break free of the clinch but Miller has double underhooks. Gump's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gump fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Gump with a lazy takedown attempt and Miller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gump's guard now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Gump wants to get back to his feet but Miller is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Miller slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Miller keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miller connects with a nice short shot to Gump's temple. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darren Miller dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Gump is looking to clinch but Miller is avoiding it.
Gump thows a left - swing and a miss! Miller defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gump. Darren Miller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gump throws a one two combo.

Gump fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Miller scores with a takedown into Gump's guard. Miller scores with a decent looking elbow strike. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Miller showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Miller is in close to Gump's body, working some short punches and elbows. Gump takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Forrest Gump has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Miller looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gump can do to turn this around?

And that's the end of the fight! Darren Miller showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miller, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
