The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffon shoots in and gets a takedown into Roma's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Griffon looking to sit in guard and control but Roma gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Griffon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Roma.
Roma trying to control the position from guard on top but Griffon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Roma would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
