PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cody Sieve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kangas Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Try and Catch Me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sieve closes the distance looking to clinch

and Khan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Khan.
Sieve is trying to force a seperation but Khan has the dominant position.
Khan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Sieve drops down looking for an ankle pick but Khan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Khan misses with a low kick.

Sieve closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Khan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Khan has Sieve pressed against the cage.
Sieve avoiding damage as Khan throws knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sieve tries to pull guard but Khan won't allow it.
Sieve has Khan pressed against the cage, preventing Khan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Khan prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cody Sieve. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sieve keeps control of Khan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The referee calls for Khan to work.
Sieve tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sieve is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Khan pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Khan misses with a knee to the head.
Sieve tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Khan smiles and moves away.
Kangas Khan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Khan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sieve.

Sieve fails with a takedown attempt.

Khan clinches.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Sieve tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Khan cracks Sieve with a nice body shot.
Khan throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sieve drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sieve looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Khan lands with a right to the head.

Khan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sieve avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Cody Sieve seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Khan closes the distance and pushes Sieve back into the cage.
Khan is pressed up against the cage. Sieve has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Khan down to the mat. Khan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Sieve shoots in for a double leg but Khan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sieve shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Khan as he jumps to the side.
Sieve tries to clinch but Khan moves out of range.
Khan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Khan stuffs the takedown attempt from Sieve. Sieve gets slowly back to his feet.
Sieve is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sieve fails with a takedown attempt.
Sieve takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Khan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Khan clinches up with Sieve and pushes him back against the cage.

Sieve takes a shot to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Khan manages to break the clinch.
Sieve takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Khan lands a left and a right that send Sieve crashing to the mat, dazed. Khan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kangas Khan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Khan jabs Sieve to the body, keeping him at a distance.

It looks like Cody Sieve has been cut.
Sieve looks to clinch

and Khan counters with a nice right hand that sends Sieve toppling to the canvas! Sieve scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Khan finish him?!

Sieve is rocked!
Khan lands with a good body shot.
Oh Sieve is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Khan lands a nice hook to Sieve's body. Sieve takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Khan is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Khan shuts the power down on Sieve. Lights out, game over! Khan is your winner.
