Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Max tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alvarez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Max scores with a one two! Alvarez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Alvarez looks for a takedown but Max sprawls well.
Max throws a push kick but Alvarez slaps the foot to one side.
Max scores with a nice right hand.
Alvarez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Max tries to avoid it but Alvarez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Max to the ground. Max escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alvarez shoots in and drives through. Max sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manny Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Max scores with a crisp jab that stopped Alvarez in his tracks.
Max throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Max walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Alvarez checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Alvarez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Max throws a combination. Alvarez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Max fails with an attempt to clinch.
Michael Max is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Max throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Alvarez counters with a shoot takedown. Max fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alvarez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Max manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Alvarez has Max in his guard.
Max wanted to stand there but Alvarez had control of the position.

Max is sitting in close to Alvarez's body. Alvarez has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Max is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Max is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Alvarez.
