Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Hossilli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hossilli comes to the cage accompanied by It's a Fight. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Hossilli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brandon Vera!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hossilli makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Hossilli wants to slow Vera down by chopping away at his legs.
Vera throws a nice inside leg kick.
Vera swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Vera throws a solid leg kick but Hossilli takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Vera.
Vera thumps Hossilli with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vera looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Vera looks to clinch
and Hossilli counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The fighters circling - Hossilli throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vera tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vera tries to land a leg kick but Hossilli saw it coming and moves away.
A leg kick checked by Vera.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vera manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hossilli on his heels. He'll look to pass Hossilli's guard now, I'm sure.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hossilli escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vera stays in close to Hossilli's body and controls the position.
Hossilli looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Vera is defending well. Hossilli quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Vera has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hossilli celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joseph Hossilli!
