Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julio Romerio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tazuboku Kayo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kayo has chosen Flipsyde - Someday as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julio Romerio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tazuboku Kayo!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romerio misses with a right hand
and Kayo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Romerio thinking.

Romerio gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Romerio gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Romerio advances position into side control!
Kayo is looking to regain half guard here but Romerio keeps moving and retains side control.

Romerio tries for a kimura but Kayo is defending well.
Kayo is looking for a sweep.
Kayo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Romerio is looking to take a break and control but Kayo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kayo is trying to improve his position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kayo avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Romerio.

Romerio decides to stand back up.
Romerio avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kayo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kayo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Romerio wants to get up but he can't break Kayo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Kayo tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Kayo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Romerio stacks Kayo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Romerio!
Kayo is not content to let Romerio control the position.
Romerio works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Kayo tries to bench press Romerio off him but Romerio keeps the position.
Romerio in side control, throwing shots but Kayo defends.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Romerio is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kayo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kayo sneaks back into half guard.
Romerio not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Romerio is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kayo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Romerio.

Romerio is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kayo has managed to free his arm - good work.

Romerio seems to be looking for submissions.
Kayo trying to hold on to Romerio's head to control him but Romerio postures up.

Kayo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Romerio pulls his head out easily.
Kayo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Romerio is trying to control. Kayo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Romerio looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kayo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Romerio pulls his head out easily.

Kayo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kayo won't allow Romerio to pass to mount.
Romerio is looking to take a break and control but Kayo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kayo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Romerio circles away quickly and effectively.
Kayo lands with a kick to the ribs.
Romerio swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kayo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Romerio rushes Kayo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Romerio lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Romerio wants to work for an arm triangle but Kayo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Romerio is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kayo defends it well.

Romerio throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Romerio is looking to take a break and control but Kayo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Romerio might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Romerio postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kayo controls Romerio momentarily but Romerio frees himself.

Romerio has gone for a leg lock! Kayo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Romerio's guard.

Kayo trying to control the position from guard on top but Romerio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Romerio has his foot on Kayo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kayo works his way back into a safe position though.

Kayo wants to control from the top but Romerio keeps moving.

Kayo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Romerio is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kayo, into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Romerio looking to sit in guard and control but Kayo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kayo trying to control the position from guard on top but Romerio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kayo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Romerio not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kayo has gone for a leg lock! Romerio slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kayo's guard.
Kayo wants to sweep here but Romerio controlling him for the moment.
Romerio won't allow Kayo to get back to his feet.
Romerio is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Kayo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Romerio doesn't defend quickly enough and Kayo has managed to lock this one up! Can Romerio escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kayo on a fantastic submission victory.
