Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alvaro De Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro De Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Jones! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Silva shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense. Jones throws a head kick but De Silva moves out of range.
De Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Jones throws a head kick that misses. De Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alvaro De Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. "I'm sorry" says Jones. De Silva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Jones throws a head kick that misses. De Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but De Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones scores with a head kick. De Silva tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for De Silva on that attempt. De Silva looks for the body kick but Jones saw that one coming. Jones throws a sloppy head kick and De Silva moves out of range easily. De Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. De Silva gets a double leg takedown into Jones's guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. De Silva wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. De Silva pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to De Silva's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Still in half guard, Jones seems content to control.
