Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Berdugo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peppy LaPue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Andrei Berdugo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peppy LaPue! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Berdugo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around LaPue's waist but LaPue gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Berdugo off to one side. LaPue tries to clinch and Berdugo counters with a shoot takedown. LaPue fights it but they end up in guard. LaPue looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Berdugo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. LaPue is keeping the position for now. LaPue wants to stand but Berdugo is controlling the position. Berdugo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but LaPue manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Berdugo has LaPue in his guard. LaPue stopping the sweep attempt from Berdugo. LaPue would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berdugo looking for a sweep. Not yet Berdugo, not yet. Berdugo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. LaPue manages to get himself to full guard.
LaPue keeping moving, preventing Berdugo from controlling successfully. LaPue bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Berdugo's guard. LaPue trying to control but Berdugo is working from the bottom. Berdugo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Berdugo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. LaPue is aware though and is defending well. LaPue won't allow Berdugo to get back to his feet. LaPue must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. LaPue passes into half guard. LaPue has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Berdugo works to full guard. Berdugo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. LaPue doesn't defend quickly enough and Berdugo has managed to lock this one up! Can LaPue escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Berdugo on a fantastic submission victory.
