Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rayn McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anjolito Quintana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quintana is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The APL Song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rayn McCarthy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anjolito Quintana! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCarthy takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Quintana thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on McCarthy if he has to take too many more of those.
Quintana is looking to clinch but McCarthy is avoiding it.
Quintana shoots for a takedown but McCarthy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. McCarthy lands with a nice combination. Quintana backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Anjolito Quintana has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Quintana fails with the takedown. Quintana defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McCarthy. Quintana displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McCarthy. McCarthy closes the distance and pushes Quintana back into the cage. Quintana trying to stall but McCarthy improves his position.
McCarthy goes for a takedown attempt but Quintana pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Quintana stuffs the takedown. McCarthy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Quintana was covering up waiting for the punch and McCarthy finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. McCarthy engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quintana keeping moving, preventing McCarthy from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rayn McCarthy wasn't doing enough on the ground. Quintana misses with a body kick. McCarthy closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Quintana's guard. Quintana lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McCarthy! This has been an exciting period of action! McCarthy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. McCarthy can't escape the position.

Quintana trying to control but McCarthy is having none of it. The referee warns McCarthy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
McCarthy takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Quintana working for a guillotine from mount but McCarthy is in no mood to give up. McCarthy holds on for dear life, controlling Quintana's posture momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quintana looking to control but McCarthy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Quintana avoids the attempt from McCarthy to control. McCarthy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Quintana is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. McCarthy is trying desperately to improve position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Quintana working hard to break the clinch. McCarthy looking for a takedown. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Knees to the body from McCarthy.

McCarthy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Quintana gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. McCarthy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Quintana fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Quintana pushes McCarthy against the cage but McCarthy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Anjolito Quintana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Quintana rushes McCarthy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Quintana's face as he tries to break the clinch. McCarthy landing knees to the body.

McCarthy turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! McCarthy staying calm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCarthy tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Quintana misses with a strike from the bottom. McCarthy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McCarthy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! McCarthy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McCarthy is chipping away with strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Quintana is looking for a sweep. McCarthy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Quintana, who protects the arm well. McCarthy tries to score with some ground and pound. Quintana controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. McCarthy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Quintana knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Quintana taking punishment in the form of punches.
Quintana tries to control the position but he's not in luck - McCarthy easily slips into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quintana reaches up to try and control the position but McCarthy seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Quintana rolls and tries to escape and now McCarthy has his back!

Quintana is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McCarthy has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Quintana has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Quintana manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Quintana. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quintana manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. McCarthy shoots in for a takedown but Quintana shows good takedown defense. Quintana clinches with his opponent.

McCarthy dives in and grabs Quintana's left leg, looking for a takedown. Quintana pushes down on McCarthy's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rayn McCarthy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Quintana shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McCarthy as he jumps to the side. McCarthy swats away the attempt to clinch by Quintana. Quintana wants to clinch up but McCarthy keeps it at a distance. Quintana leaves McCarthy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nice sprawl there from McCarthy as Quintana shoots in. Quintana tries to clinch there but McCarthy circles away.
Quintana shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. McCarthy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Quintana to the ground. McCarthy is now in Quintana's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Quintana holds on and takes a little breather. McCarthy showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Quintana wants to sweep here but McCarthy controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCarthy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McCarthy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Quintana looking for a guillotine here but McCarthy defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. McCarthy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. McCarthy scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Rayn McCarthy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McCarthy's corner is telling him to maintain position. McCarthy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Quintana working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McCarthy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCarthy trying to control the position from guard on top but Quintana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rayn McCarthy. Quintana is looking to clinch but McCarthy is avoiding it.
McCarthy has his takedown stuffed and Quintana counters with a nice double leg into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Quintana would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Anjolito Quintana has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McCarthy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. McCarthy is taking a breather. Quintana says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McCarthy working Quintana over with strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Rayn McCarthy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McCarthy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
