Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Porter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincenzo Calliente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Porter's entrance music is Red Hot Chili Peppers - Roller Coaster of Love. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Matt Porter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincenzo Calliente!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calliente drives through with a takedown into Porter's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Calliente throws and elbow that misses. Porter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Calliente's guard. Nice move by Porter!
Porter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Calliente is proving hard to escape from.
Calliente can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Porter controls the pace.
Calliente keeping moving, preventing Porter from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Matt Porter wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Calliente closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Porter quickly recovers to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Porter won't allow Calliente to pass to mount.
Calliente trying to control from half guard but Porter is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Calliente thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Porter's head.
Porter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Porter works his way to full guard. Good work.
Calliente postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Porter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Calliente passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Calliente throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Calliente works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Calliente trying to control the position but Porter is working away.
Calliente connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Porter some visible discomfort.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Calliente working the ground and pound.
Calliente really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Porter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Porter is not content to let Calliente control the position.
Porter gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Calliente is looking to advance position but Porter won't allow it.
Calliente working the head and body with strikes.
Calliente works his way into full mount!
Calliente has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Porter's face.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Calliente lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Porter is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Calliente controlling his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Porter tries to reverse the position but Calliente maintains control.
Calliente raining down hammerfists from mount.
Porter really wants to buck Calliente off and get back to his feet.
Calliente unloading with bombs!
Calliente postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Porter looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You get the feeling that Porter really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Calliente working away from the top, dropping strikes.


Porter is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Calliente! Porter is hurt baaadly! Calliente is firing away with more strikes - Porter is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vincenzo Calliente!
