The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez looks to land a combination but Harvath avoids it well.
Gonzalez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gonzalez throws a leg kick

and Harvath holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Harvath tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gonzalez blocks the elbow strike.
Gonzalez lands an uppercut.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Harvath jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gonzalez walks away with a smile on his face. Harvath gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

It looks like Dirk Harvath has been cut.
Harvath has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Gonzalez throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Gonzalez shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Harvath eats them both and turns towards Gonzalez to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Donk. Gonzalez catches Harvath right on the button with a cross.
Harvath on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gonzalez. Gonzalez obviously looking to wear him down.
Gonzalez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Harvath's head.
Gonzalez throws the left hand but Harvath avoids the punch easily.

Harvath goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A thudding body kick lands there by Gonzalez!
Harvath takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jesus Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooh!!! Gonzalez has knocked Harvath down with a huge combo! Gonzalez steps away and waves a wobbly Harvath back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Gonzalez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Harvath tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Gonzalez darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Harvath is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Harvath's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gonzalez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Harvath scrambles back to his feet.
Harvath takes one on the button.
Harvath is still on wobbly legs! Can Gonzalez finish him?

That has opened up Dirk Harvath's cut even more.
That kick from Harvath tenderised Gonzalez's leg. Gonzalez is trying to keep his angry face on.
Harvath seems to have recovered his senses.
Harvath tries a head kick but it misses.

and Harvath counters with a stiff right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Harvath takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gonzalez swats away the attempt to clinch by Harvath.

Gonzalez's corner calls for a 1-2. Gonzalez obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Harvath throws a body punch but Gonzalez moves out of range.
Gonzalez tried to score with a low kick but Harvath checks it.
Gonzalez fails to land with a series of punches.
Gonzalez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Harvath.
Gonzalez missing with a left hand there. Harvath was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Harvath connects with a leg kick. Gonzalez looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

That's time! Gonzalez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Harvath tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gonzalez is able to avoid easily.
Gonzalez feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Harvath's calf.
Nice uppercut lands for Gonzalez. That snapped Harvath's head back.
Gonzalez throws a low kick but Harvath avoids it.
Gonzalez blocks a head kick by Harvath.
Harvath throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Harvath takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Gonzalez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gonzalez clobbers Harvath with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Gonzalez connects with a looping right hand.
Harvath misses with a head kick.

Harvath slips under a jab from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Harvath.
Harvath is looking to clinch.

Gonzalez lands a left and a right that send Harvath crashing to the mat, dazed. Gonzalez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The cut above Dirk Harvath's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Harvath throws a quick inside leg kick.
Harvath tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Gonzalez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Dirk Harvath's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
