Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gsp Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Obie Trice - Violent. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva has his takedown stuffed
and Rua holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rua pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rua's corner calls for a 1-2. Rua obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rua moves into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rua takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Rua fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the ropes.

Rua has hold of one of Silva's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Rua gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Rua is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rua manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Rua in his guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Rua is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Rua can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.
Rua lands a big elbow.
Silva wants to control but Rua is having none of it.
Silva is trying to reverse the position but instead Rua has taken his back - oops!

I would not like to be Silva right now.

Rua lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Rua wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely.

Rua seems to be looking for submissions.
Silva works his way to full guard. Good work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rua gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rua got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rua has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
