Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Bunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bunn has chosen Go to Sleep - Eminem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shinya Aoki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Bunn! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aoki throws a front kick aimed at Bunn's knee but Bunn avoids it well. A bone on bone clash there as Aoki blocks the leg kick.
Bunn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Aoki takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Bunn lands a lovely overhand right. Bunn thuds a left hand into Aoki's body. Bunn throws out a loose jab but Aoki uses good head movement to avoid it. Bunn slips under a jab. Aoki shoots in looking for a takedown but Bunn manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Aoki's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bunn lands a jab. Bunn misses with a looping left. Nice sprawl there from Bunn as Aoki shoots in. Bunn fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Aoki has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Bunn slips a jab and a cross from Aoki.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bunn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bunn working the head with strikes. Aoki tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bunn trying to control the action but Aoki is working from the bottom. Who's going to make the next move? Bunn throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Aoki is not content to let Bunn control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aoki is trying to improve his position. Bunn controlling the position from side mount. Bunn misses with the ground and pound. Aoki can't do much from the bottom here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Aoki is not content to let Bunn control the position. Bunn working the body and head with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki regains half guard. Bunn trying to control from half guard but Aoki is working away. Bunn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bunn is looking for a kimura but Aoki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bunn to get the leverage. Bunn is trying to control. Aoki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Aoki is trying to control but can't.
Aoki is trying to get back to full guard. Bunn content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Ground and pound from Bunn. Bunn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bunn prevents Aoki from improving his position. Aoki makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Aoki. Aoki wants to sweep here but Bunn controlling him for the moment. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bunn sitting in guard, not really doing much. Aoki keeping moving, preventing Bunn from controlling successfully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aoki pulls Bunn in close to prevent any damage. Bunn looking to sit in guard and control but Aoki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Aoki. Aoki keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Aoki gets a double leg takedown into Bunn's guard. Bunn looking for a sweep. Not yet Bunn, not yet. Aoki wants to stand but Bunn has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Bunn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Aoki manages to get himself to full guard.

Gary Bunn has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Bunn misses with an uppercut. Bunn throws a right and a left that Aoki avoids nicely. Bunn misses with a few strikes there.

Bunn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Aoki sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Aoki fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bunn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Aoki moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bunn is breathing heavily. Bunn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Aoki.
Bunn throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Horrible takedown by Aoki or perhaps it was just good defense by Bunn which made him look bad. Bunn wants to slow Aoki down by chopping away at his legs. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aoki. Bunn lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bunn looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aoki manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Aoki stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Nice sprawl there from Bunn as Aoki shoots in. Bunn throws a nice looking combination but Aoki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bunn lands with an uppercut that bounces Aoki off the cage and back into rage. Bunn scores with the left hand. Aoki knows he should have avoided that one. Aoki steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bunn. Bunn throws a leg kick that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bunn throws a body punch but Aoki moves out of range. Nice sprawl there from Bunn as Aoki shoots in. Aoki shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bunn counters with a nice double leg into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bunn sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Aoki defending well though. Aoki is trying is best to control the position here. Aoki is not content to let Bunn control the position. Aoki makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Aoki. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bunn trying to control but Aoki is working from the bottom. Bunn passes Aoki's right leg, so he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Bunn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Aoki is defended easily by Bunn. Gary Bunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aoki uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bunn. Aoki dives in and grabs Bunn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bunn pushes down on Aoki's head and hops out. Bunn swings for the body but Aoki moves out of range.

and Aoki counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. No joy there for Aoki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bunn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aoki's waist but Aoki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bunn off to one side. Aoki thuds his right hand into Bunn's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Bunn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bunn wants it to stay on the feet. Aoki takes one to the chin there. Aoki ducks under a wild hook from Bunn. Bunn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Bunn. Aoki does a little dance to reset his feet. Bunn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bunn connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Aoki momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bunn lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Bunn works the jab nicely. Bunn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Aoki is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bunn off and has taken his back! Aoki is riding his opponent, not letting Bunn buck him off. You can see the frustration on Bunn's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Bunn's body.
Gary Bunn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Bunn holding on to Aoki's left wrist, preventing the choke. I really don't envy Bunn right now.
Aoki tries to get the hooks in deep but Bunn pushed the leg off. Aoki is not going to allow Bunn to sit and survive in this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Aoki throws a half hearted mid kick. Bunn gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A looping hook to the body misses from Bunn. Aoki does a little dance to reset his feet. Aoki takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Aoki shoots in for a takedown but Bunn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aoki has a takedown stuffed. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jab from Bunn.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Gary Bunn. Well Bunn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
