Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Deshawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wayne Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Alice in Chains-Man in the Box. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a predictable looking body shot

and Deshawn counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Deshawn passes into side control, despite Gracie's attempt to control the position.
Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Deshawn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Wayne Gracie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Deshawn looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Deshawn keeps moving and retains side control.
Gracie wants to control but Deshawn postures up.
John Wayne Gracie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Gracie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Deshawn kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
