Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfonso Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes into the arena with Beware-Big Pun blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donnie Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alfonso Garcia! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Garcia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Garcia swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Garcia with a poor takedown and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson. Garcia keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Garcia wants to control the position but Johnson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Johnson tries to pass to full mount but Garcia defends it. Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Johnson manages to pass to mount!

Johnson unloading with bombs! Garcia tries to hold on but Johnson pushes him away. Johnson is standing up, even though he is in mount. Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Garcia moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Garcia misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnson throws a big shot that misses. Garcia gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Garcia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Johnson trying to move into half guard but instead Garcia has managed to sweep! Garcia looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Garcia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Garcia's guard. Garcia lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Johnson! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Garcia wants to control the pace but Johnson is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Garcia looking to ground and pound but Johnson is blocking nicely. Johnson working to try and regain half guard.
Garcia trying to control but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Garcia.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donnie Johnson dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Johnson tries to clinch but Garcia is having none of it. Johnson keeps the fight on the outside. Johnson misses with a takedown and Garcia counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Johnson! Garcia trying to control but he's not successful this time. Johnson tries to hold on but Garcia postures up. Garcia scoring with strikes but Johnson is staying in there. Garcia trying to control but Johnson is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries to lock up and control but Garcia gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Garcia throws some wild stikes that Johnson manages to avoid easily.
Garcia throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Johnson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Garcia.
Garcia can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Johnson is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Garcia gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Johnson misses with a takedown and Garcia counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Garcia trying to advance position but Johnson counters by regaining guard. Johnson is trying to hold Garcia in close to prevent damage but Garcia has managed to pass into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Garcia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia moves into full mount! Johnson won't be happy about that! Garcia throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Garcia goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Johnson is on top in guard.
Garcia keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Garcia wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him. Garcia is looking for a triangle here but Johnson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Johnson staying calm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alfonso Garcia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Garcia wants to clinch. Garcia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Garcia shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Garcia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Johnson tries to clinch up and Garcia counters with a head kick. That will keep Johnson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Johnson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Garcia's legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Johnson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Garcia wants to get back to full guard. Garcia looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Garcia tries to kick Johnson off but Johnson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Garcia wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
Garcia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Garcia tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Garcia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Garcia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Johnson is looking to clinch but Garcia is avoiding it.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Garcia shows good takedown defense. Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Garcia tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Garcia to get the leverage. Garcia is working for an americana but Johnson has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Garcia was thinking about the submission. Johnson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Garcia trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Garcia's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Johnson wanted to stand there but Garcia had control of the position. Garcia isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Johnson stacks Garcia on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Johnson! Garcia gets back to half guard. Garcia wants to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Alfonso Garcia. Well Garcia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
