Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christian Wesley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Higastsui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wesley's entrance music is T.I Ft. Eminem - All She Wrote. A fine choice. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Sean Higastsui enters the ring!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sean Higastsui!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wesley throws a good cross that connects.

Higastsui changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wesley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wesley is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Higastsui tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Higastsui has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wesley prevents Higastsui from moving into mount.
Wesley is looking to reverse the position.

Higastsui wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wesley, who protects the arm well.
Higastsui tries to advance to mount but Wesley denies him.

Higastsui is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Wesley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wesley tries to bench press Higastsui off him but Higastsui keeps the position.
Wesley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wesley tries to get out of the position.
Wesley can't do much from the bottom here.
Wesley tries to buck Higastsui off but Higastsui is having none of it.
Wesley stops Higastsui from passing to mount.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Higastsui is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wesley has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wesley wants to control but Higastsui postures up.

Higastsui wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wesley, who protects the arm well.
Wesley tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Higastsui wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Higastsui tries to advance to mount but Wesley denies him.

Higastsui advances to mount.

Higastsui goes for an armbar but Wesley turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Wesley.

We're going to have a standup here because Christian Wesley wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A big left from Wesley misses.
Wesley swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Higastsui counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wesley's guard now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Higastsui won't allow Wesley to sweep him here.
Higastsui trying to control but Wesley is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wesley can't keep his opponent in guard - Higastsui advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Higastsui is looking for a kimura here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Higastsui dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wesley throws out a leg kick but Higastsui moves out of range and Wesley only half commits.
Wesley's jab looks to have found its range, popping Higastsui under the eye.
Wesley lands a body shot.
Higastsui slips under a jab from Wesley.
Higastsui tries to move into range but Wesley moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Higastsui displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wesley throws out the jab.

Higastsui closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Higastsui is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wesley knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Higastsui tries to move into full mount but can't pass Wesley's legs.
Wesley is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Higastsui is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wesley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Higastsui wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wesley, who protects the arm well.

Wesley gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Sean Higastsui has got the better of the ground game so far.

Higastsui working for a guillotine from mount but Wesley is in no mood to give up.

Higastsui is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wesley has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wesley!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Christian Wesley has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Higastsui swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Christian Wesley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Wesley.
Higastsui is breathing heavily.
Wesley misses with a looping left.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wesley misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wesley getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christian Wesley dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Wesley lands a high kick!
Good leg kick by Wesley there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Wesley lands a nice shot to the body.
Wesley throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Sean Higastsui has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wesley scores with a jab. Higastsui acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Wesley throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Higastsui is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the ropes! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Christian Wesley!
