Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wulfric Rothmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Doug Campbell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wulfric Rothmann! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Campbell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rothmann pinned against the cage. Rothmann gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Campbell checks the leg kick. Campbell avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Rothmann with a poor takedown and Campbell counters with a nice double leg into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Campbell won't allow Rothmann to sweep him here. Rothmann escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Campbell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Rothmann working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Campbell. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothmann working a defensive guard but Campbell passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Campbell in particular looking to stall. Rothmann tries to get to full guard but Campbell has control of the leg. Campbell stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Doug Campbell. Nice body punch from Campbell. Campbell shoots in looking for a takedown but Rothmann manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Campbell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Campbell has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doug Campbell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Campbell fails to land the takedown. No joy there for Rothmann, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Campbell is defended easily by Rothmann. Rothmann looks for a takedown but Campbell sprawls well. Rothmann has his takedown stuffed and Campbell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rothmann's guard. Rothmann looks gassed! Campbell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Campbell passes easily into side control. Nice work. The referee asks Campbell politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Campbell prefers to stall for the moment though. You can see the frustration on Rothmann's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Campbell is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rothmann's shoulder. That is not cool. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Campbell advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Campbell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rothmann sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Campbell somewhat. Rothmann is trying hard to land a takedown here. Campbell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Campbell throws a head kick but Rothmann moves out of range.
Rothmann tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Campbell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Campbell dives in and grabs Rothmann's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rothmann pushes down on Campbell's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothmann keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doug Campbell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rothmann doesn't manage to clinch there - Campbell circles away.
Campbell closes the distance and clinches up with Rothmann, looking for a takedown. Campbell pushes Rothmann against the cage but Rothmann circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Campbell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rothmann defends it nicely. Rothmann throws a head kick that misses and Campbell counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Campbell. Rothmann is breathing heavily. Rothmann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Campbell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Campbell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rothmann wants it to stay on the feet. Campbell scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
