Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Haile Gebreselassie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maki Kaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Haile Gebreselassie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maki Kaze! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gebreselassie plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Gebreselassie throws out a leg kick but Kaze moves out of range and Gebreselassie only half commits. Kaze moves out of range of the body kick. Kaze gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gebreselassie counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Kaze is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gebreselassie pulls his head out easily. Kaze is looking for a sweep. Gebreselassie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaze looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kaze looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Gebreselassie pushes past his half guard into mount! Kaze is bucking up trying to escape but Gebreselassie cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Kaze avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gebreselassie.
Gebreselassie controlling from mount. Gebreselassie landing strikes from the mount and Kaze is in trouble! Kaze is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gebreselassie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kaze tries to reverse the position but Gebreselassie maintains control. Gebreselassie working away from the top, dropping strikes. Gebreselassie avoids the attempt from Kaze to control. Gebreselassie looking to finish Kaze with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kaze! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kaze is looking to improve his position but Gebreselassie isn't that keen on the idea. Kaze sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gebreselassie in particular looking to stall. Gebreselassie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gebreselassie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Kaze is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gebreselassie is trying to control. Kaze wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kaze is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Haile Gebreselassie wasn't doing enough on the ground. Kaze doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gebreselassie counters with a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Gebreselassie enables Kaze to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gebreselassie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Kaze wants to control from the top but Gebreselassie keeps moving. Kaze avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kaze slips nicely into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kaze seems to be working for a kimura but Gebreselassie defends the submission attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Haile Gebreselassie dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gebreselassie feints and then cracks Kaze's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kaze down. Kaze shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gebreselassie counters with a solid body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gebreselassie pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Gebreselassie lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Kaze avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Kaze with a poor takedown and Gebreselassie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kaze won't be happy with that. Kaze tries to improve position but can't. Kaze defending against the ground and pound. Gebreselassie lands some shots froms side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gebreselassie is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kaze will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Kaze gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kaze is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gebreselassie pulls his head out easily. Kaze wants to control but Gebreselassie is keeping busy.
Kaze moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Haile Gebreselassie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gebreselassie wants to control from the top but Kaze keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaze throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Gebreselassie trying to control but Kaze is working from the bottom. Gebreselassie won't allow Kaze to sweep him here. Gebreselassie stands and throws Kaze's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kaze manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gebreselassie's best efforts. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gebreselassie seems to be working for a kimura but Kaze defends the submission attempt. Kaze trying to control but Gebreselassie postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaze trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Kaze keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gebreselassie tries to control but Kaze wriggling away. Kaze is trying desperately to improve position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Haile Gebreselassie dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Kaze checks a leg kick. A solid body kick from Gebreselassie. Gebreselassie lands a front kick. Gebreselassie fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kaze has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kaze with a poor takedown and Gebreselassie counters with a thumping low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gebreselassie lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Kaze shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gebreselassie defends it nicely. Gebreselassie lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kaze will feel that in the morning. Kaze takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gebreselassie thows a body kick. Kaze tries to catch it but that hurt him. Gebreselassie connects with a leg kick. Kaze looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Gebreselassie misses with a head kick.
Gebreselassie throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Gebreselassie lands a leg kick that knocks Kaze off balance momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaze stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gebreselassie. Kaze fails with the takedown and Gebreselassie counters with an outside leg kick.
Haile Gebreselassie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maki Kaze. Gebreselassie throws a head kick but Kaze moves out of range.
Kaze shoots and misses and Gebreselassie counters with an inside leg kick. Haile Gebreselassie is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaze shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gebreselassie counters with a thumping low kick. A thudding body kick lands there by Gebreselassie!
Gebreselassie cracks the inside of Kaze's front leg. Maki Kaze has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Haile Gebreselassie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kaze with a poor takedown and Gebreselassie counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
And that's the end of the fight! Haile Gebreselassie showed his dominance in that final round. Well Gebreselassie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
