Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fair Child!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Child connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Child changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Banks shoots for a double leg takedown but Child sprawls well. He's pushed Banks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Banks with a poor takedown
and Child counters with a body kick.

Child moves into the clinch.
Banks tries to score a body lock takedown but Child shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Banks. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Child has hold of one of Banks's legs. Banks is fighting the takedown attempt but Child gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Child accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Child wants to control from the top but Banks keeps moving.

Banks is not content to let Child control the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Child wants to advance to full mount but Banks doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Child loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Child passes into half guard.

Child is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Child is looking to stall here but Banks recovers full guard.

Banks fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Child sprawls well initially but Banks persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Child is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Banks's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Banks's back!

Child cracks Banks with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Banks from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Child trying to control momentarily.

Child is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Banks defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Banks is keeping busy.

Banks is trying to stand back up.

Child is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Banks is defending well though. Child let's go of the attempt for now.
Child has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Child is striking well from the back but Banks escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Child is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Banks reverses the position - he's now on top in Child's guard.

Banks with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Child has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Banks wants to control from the top but Child keeps moving.

Child keeping moving, preventing Banks from controlling successfully.
Child has control of Banks's left arm, preventing Banks from doing any damage.

Brian Banks has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Child moves in looking to clinch but Banks pushes him off.

Child clinches up with Banks and pushes him back against the cage.
Banks is trying to drag Child to the mat but Child just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Child lands an elbow inside that Banks shrugs off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Child lands a nice knee to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fair Child showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Banks has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Child.
Child throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Banks.
Banks doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Child makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Child dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Banks. That did some damage!
Child lands with a kick to the temple. Banks shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A solid leg kick lands there for Child.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Child tries to close the distance and clinch but Banks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Banks takes a head kick and keeps coming.


Jeez, Brian Banks's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Brian Banks's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Fair Child!
