Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Damented (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz has chosen AC/DC - TNT as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Damented!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damented tries a head kick but it misses.
Damented fails with an attempt to clinch.
Diaz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Damented manages to avoid it.
Damented gets caught flat footed, as Diaz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Diaz has gone for a leg lock! Damented slips out almost immediately though and dives into Diaz's guard.
Damented is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Damented stacks Diaz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Damented!
Diaz manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Damented is looking to escape.
Diaz is working for a submission of some sort.
Damented makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Damented forces Diaz back against the cage and clinches.
Diaz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Damented pulls his leg out and moves away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Diaz is defended easily by Damented.
Dave Damented has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rory Diaz.

Diaz fails to land the takedown.
Damented shoots in for a takedown but Diaz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Damented avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz looks gassed!
Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Damented gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Damented controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Diaz looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Damented has picked Diaz up and slammed him! Diaz can't keep hold of the triangle and Damented manages to pass to side control!
Diaz is letting Damented control him for a moment.
Damented decides to stand back up. Damented steps back and let's Diaz get back to his feet.
Diaz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Diaz showed some decent athleticism there.
Damented moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Damented is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Damented looking for a sweep. Not yet Damented, not yet.
Damented trying to control the position.
Diaz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Damented dives on top into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Damented wanted to stand there but Diaz had control of the position.
Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Damented defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Damented postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Damented dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Damented is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Damented circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Damented but Damented pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Damented counters with an outside leg kick.

Damented shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Damented keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Damented scores a takedown into full mount!
Diaz is breathing heavily.
Damented can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diaz is looking to escape.

Diaz is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Damented controlling the pace for now.
Diaz keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Diaz sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Diaz looks like he's trying to stand up.
Well, if Damented is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Dave Damented wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Damented misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The fight stays on the outside here - Diaz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Diaz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Damented!

Damented tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Diaz goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Damented is on top in guard.
Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Damented gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Diaz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Damented uses it to pass to side control.
Damented cracks Diaz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Diaz tries to escape but Damented is in control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Diaz is looking to regain half guard here but Damented keeps moving and retains side control.
Diaz trying to remain calm as Damented controls from the top position.
Damented decides to take the fight back to the feet.
A punch combination from Damented misses.
Diaz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Damented can pounce on him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No luck for Damented with that takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
