Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez comes to the cage accompanied by UFC - Face the Pain. Jack Bruce acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cain Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Bruce! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Velasquez as Bruce shoots in. Velasquez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Velasquez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Velasquez working the head and body with strikes. Bruce trying to control from the bottom.
Velasquez missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Velasquez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bruce sees it coming and defends easily. Velasquez scoring with strikes to the body and head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasquez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Velasquez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Velasquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bruce on the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Velasquez working Bruce over with strikes. Velasquez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Well, if Velasquez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Bruce is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bruce doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Velasquez. Nice strikes from Velasquez there. Velasquez thows a huge punch but Bruce dodges it nicely.
Velasquez throws a strike but Bruce avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Bruce is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Velasquez thows a big elbow that misses. Velasquez with a flurry of punches that miss. Velasquez wants to pass the guard but Bruce is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bruce not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bruce wants to stand and escape but Velasquez is having none of it. Bruce working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Velasquez. Velasquez is in close to Bruce's body, working some short punches and elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Velasquez throws and elbow that misses. Bruce uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Velasquez's guard. Nice move by Bruce! Velasquez wants to stand up but Bruce is controlling him. Bruce trying to control the position from guard on top but Velasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Velasquez controlling the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bruce accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bruce is one step ahead there. Velasquez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jack Bruce. Velasquez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bruce manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Bruce manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Velasquez manages to get himself to full guard.
Velasquez keeping moving, preventing Bruce from controlling successfully. Velasquez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bruce wants to pass the guard but Velasquez is keeping the position. Velasquez wants to stand but Bruce is controlling the position. Bruce wants to control from the top but Velasquez keeps moving. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jack Bruce wasn't active enough on the ground. Bruce will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bruce shoots in but Velasquez avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cain Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Bruce. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bruce goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Velasquez dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Velasquez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Velasquez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Cain Velasquez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Velasquez in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bruce is working to get back to half guard.
Velasquez lands with some strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Velasquez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Bruce is rocked! Oooh a big shot lands for Velasquez! Bruce is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Cain Velasquez!
