Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drew Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Horwick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drew Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grant Horwick!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horwick keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Horwick throws a wild body kick that Diaz sees coming a mile off.
Diaz tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Horwick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Horwick tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch but Horwick swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Horwick looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Horwick misses with a series of wild punches.

Diaz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Horwick's head.
Diaz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Diaz uses his free foot to push down on Horwick's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Horwick.
Horwick wants to hold on but Diaz pushes him away.

Horwick tries to lock up and control but Diaz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diaz is working for a guillotine from mount but Horwick frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


The fighters circle momentarily. Diaz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Diaz shoots in and gets a takedown into Horwick's guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Diaz connects with a nice short shot to Horwick's temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
