Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin Starr ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Ang! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Starr misses with a takedown and Ang counters with a takedown into side control. Starr is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Starr takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Ang tries to move to mount but Starr blocks the move with his legs. Starr is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ang's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Ang trying to pass the guard but Starr defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ang is looking for a kimura here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ang is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Starr works his way to full guard. Good work. Ang working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Starr 's head. Starr is trying to keep Ang in close.

Starr keeping moving, preventing Ang from controlling successfully. Ang is fighting to break Starr 's control of his arms but Starr is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Ang postures up in Starr 's guard and throws a big left but Starr blocks it. Starr working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Starr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ang doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ang manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ang postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Starr is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Starr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ang lands a couple of digs. Ang chips away with some ground and pound. Ang with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Ang postures up.
Starr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ang defends it easily. Ang cracks Starr with a solid left hand. Starr looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ang wants to control from the top but Starr keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ang accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Starr looking to control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A combination from Ang does no damage. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Ang!
Starr with a poor takedown and Ang counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Ang misses with a two punch combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Starr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ang tries to avoid it but Starr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ang to the ground. Ang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Starr does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Starr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ang decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Starr 's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Starr is trying to keep Ang in close.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ang trying to control the position from guard on top but Starr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ang content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Starr is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ang misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ang rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Starr moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Ang scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Ang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Starr paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Starr circles away. Starr misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ang gets a clinch. Ang tightens his grip and picks Starr up, before dumping him to the ground. Starr manages to land in guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Starr is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Starr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ang defends well. Starr looking to control.

Ang stands up from guard. Let's bang! Starr fails with the takedown and Ang decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Starr 's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ang looking to pass the guard. Starr trying to control the position.
Ang is looking to work some ground and pound but Starr has wrist control. Starr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ang postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Starr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ang doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ang manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Starr is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ang is aware though and is defending well. Ang in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Ang postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Ang tries to free his leg and advance position but Starr is retaining full guard. Ang landing some decent shots from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Starr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ang defends well. Ang slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ang has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Ang darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Ang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Starr keeps working. Starr is pressing down on Ang's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ang trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ang scoring with some ground and pound. Starr working a defensive guard here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Starr is trying to control the position but Ang postures up. Ang sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Starr 's guard. Ang is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Ang thows a huge punch but Starr dodges it nicely.
Ang wants to take a breather but Starr is having none of it. Starr is trying to get back to full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Starr moves into full guard.
Ang throws a big right hand that misses. Ang pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Starr is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Ang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Ang shoots in and drives through. Starr sprawls well. Starr with a poor takedown and Ang counters with a one-two to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Starr . Starr misses with a takedown and Ang counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Starr ! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Starr . That's going to take a lot out of him. Ang scoring with strikes but Starr is staying in there. Starr can't escape the position.
The referee warns Starr that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Starr is looking to improve his position but Ang isn't that keen on the idea. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ang fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Starr is in all sorts of trouble here.
Starr wants to control but Ang is having none of it. Ang is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Starr can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Starr tries to reverse the position but Ang maintains control. Ang lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ang scoring with strikes but Starr is staying in there.
Starr is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ang connects with a bit shot that sees Starr covering up! More strikes from Ang and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Ang is our winner by TKO!
