Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Finbar Calamitius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Staton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Staton's choice of entrance music: Puff, The Magic Dragon. Finbar Calamitius has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Finbar Calamitius! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Staton! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Staton throws a quick inside leg kick. Staton tries to land a leg kick but Calamitius saw it coming and moves away.
Calamitius on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Staton. Staton obviously looking to wear him down.
Calamitius darts in trying to clinch and Staton counters with a two punch combo. Calamitius tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Staton counters with a straight right hand. Staton tried to score with a low kick but Calamitius checks it. This has been an exciting period of action! Calamitius closes the distance and pushes Staton back into the cage. Calamitius using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Staton has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

A little nod from Calamitius there as he acknowledges the shot. Calamitius darts in trying to clinch and Staton counters with an outside leg kick.

Staton throws a low kick but it's checked well by Calamitius. Calamitius wants to clinch letting Staton counter with a right hand. Calamitius tries to clinch but Staton moves away and Staton makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Calamitius takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Calamitius darts in trying to clinch and Staton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Calamitius looks to clinch and Staton counters with an inside leg kick. Calamitius displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Staton. Staton throws a hook but Calamitius avoids it easily. Calamitius tries to clinch and Staton counters with a nice leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staton fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Staton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Calamitius was covering up waiting for the punch and Staton finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Staton trying to control the position from guard on top but Calamitius is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Staton thows a big elbow that misses. Staton in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Staton throws and elbow that misses. Calamitius uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Staton's guard. Nice move by Calamitius!

Jeremy Staton has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Staton circles away from the clinch attempt enabling Staton to counter with a crisp jab. Staton throws a leg kick but Calamitius sees it coming and checks it nicely. Calamitius wants to clinch but Staton slips to the side and Staton makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Staton connects with a leg kick. Calamitius looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Calamitius moves to clinch but Staton breaks away and Staton counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Calamitius! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Staton scores with a couple of good head shots there.
BOOM! Staton connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Staton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Calamitius is looking to escape. Calamitius is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Staton lands a nice shot to the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Staton content just to control the position here. Calamitius holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Staton tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Calamitius tries to clinch but fails miserably and Staton counters with a nice low kick that buckles Calamitius's knee momentarily. Nice uppercut there from Staton. Calamitius looks to clinch and Staton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! Staton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Staton scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Staton not landing any meaningful shots this time. Calamitius is trying to stand.

Calamitius doesn't seem bothered though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Calamitius gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Staton to score an easy takedown into full guard. Staton content to stall in guard here. Staton trying to control but Calamitius is working from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Staton wants to take a breather but Calamitius is having none of it. Staton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Calamitius doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Staton. Staton lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Calamitius swivels though and keeps the full guard. Staton trying to control but Calamitius is working from the bottom. Staton thows a big elbow that misses. Staton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Staton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Calamitius tries to strike from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jeremy Staton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Staton winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
