Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Eveans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Eveans's choice of entrance music: One Step Into A World. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rashad Eveans! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eveans with a lazy takedown attempt and Miller counters with a shoot takedown. Eveans fights it but they end up in guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eveans can do anything to dispel that myth. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Miller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Miller trying to control but Eveans is working from the bottom. Eveans is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miller is controlling him. Miller loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Miller postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Miller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Eveans is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miller is controlling him. Miller controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller trying to control but Eveans is working from the bottom. Miller is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryan Miller just wasn't active enough. Miller drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Miller in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller wants to lay and pray for a moment but Eveans keeps working. Miller in side control lands a decent elbow. Eveans is working to avoid the ground and pound but Miller connects with a decent elbow. Miller tries to advance to mount but Eveans denies him. Miller working the ground and pound from side control. Eveans looks gassed! Sloppy strikes there by Miller. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller controlling from side mount. Eveans is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Miller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Miller lands an elbow. Miller misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Eveans takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Miller advances to mount. A nice elbow there by Miller. Miller landing shots from mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Miller breaks from Eveans's wrist control and lands an elbow. Miller landing strikes from the mount and Eveans is in trouble! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eveans is breathing heavily. Miller tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Eveans wants to get back to his feet. Miller cracks Eveans with a big right hand but Eveans just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Eveans is being controlled here. Eveans is working to avoid the ground and pound but Miller connects with a decent elbow. Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Eveans can do to turn this around?

That's three minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Miller seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Miller cracks Eveans with a big right hand but Eveans just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Miller takes a little break here. Eveans wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Miller is putting a hurting on Eveans here, landing some big shots from side control. Miller happy to just control the position for now.
