The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danze goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Danze.
Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Danze counters with a three punch combo that has Jones backing up. Jones nods at Danze to acknowledge the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Danze drops Jones with a left and a right! Oh, Jones is hurt - Danze dives into side control looking to finish!

Danze swings around for an armbar but Jones sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Danze's guard.

Danze on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Danze tries to get out of the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Billy Danze wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

No joy there for Danze, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Danze moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Danze pushes down on Jones's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Danze is just content to waste time from the top position. Jones takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Jones pushes Danze off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Danze looks to land a combination. Jones sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones moves forwards but Danze connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Danze tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Danze to the ground. Danze escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Danze lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Jones sprawling to the canvas. Danze follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Jones hang on?
Jones is still in real trouble! Can Danze finish him?
Jones is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Danze is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Jones is hurt! He's hurt bad - Danze fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Jones from any more punishment! Congratulations to Danze! Great finish!
