PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bb Esko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Nobis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Peter Nobis was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bb Esko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Nobis!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esko pushes Nobis away with a front kick.
Esko moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Esko misses with a head kick.
Esko throws a sloppy head kick and Nobis moves out of range easily.
Esko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick from Esko lands but Nobis takes it in his stride.


It looks like Peter Nobis has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Esko lands with a nice body kick.
Esko feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nobis's calf.

Esko throws a wild body kick that Nobis sees coming a mile off.

Nobis has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Esko.

Nobis dives in and grabs Esko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Esko pushes down on Nobis's head and hops out.

Esko will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nobis shoots in but no luck this time.

Nobis closes the distance and clinches up with Esko, looking for a takedown. Nobis pushes Esko against the cage but Esko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Esko counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Bb Esko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Esko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nobis shoots in and drives through. Esko sprawls well.
Nobis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Esko sprawls well. Esko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nobis gets slowly back to his feet.
Nobis shoots in looking for a takedown but Esko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nobis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Nobis is trying desperately to land a takedown but Esko is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Nobis.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Esko explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Nobis crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Esko - the referee stops the clock and Nobis gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Esko. Nobis manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Esko throws a head kick but Nobis moves out of range.
Nobis has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Esko.
Nobis closes the distance but Esko moves to the side
and Esko counters with a slapping leg kick.

Esko tries a head kick but it misses.
Esko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Esko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nobis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Esko but Esko pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Good leg kick by Esko there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Peter Nobis's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A nice inside leg kick there by Esko. That's going to slow Nobis down.

Esko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Esko wants it to stay on the feet.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Nobis might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Esko has got the better of the exchanges.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nobis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Esko is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Esko has escaped and now he's on top!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nobis walks forward, straight into a front kick from Esko.
Esko is looking to slow Nobis down with leg kicks.

Nobis's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nobis has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nobis and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Nobis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nobis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Nobis lands a nice shot to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nobis cracks Esko with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Peter Nobis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Esko has left one of his arms exposed and Nobis doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Esko screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
