Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Babcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saint Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Babcock comes to the cage accompanied by Headstrong. Pierre has chosen Where is My Mind as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Babcock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Saint Pierre! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierre misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Babcock swats away the attempt to clinch by Pierre. Pierre misses with a head kick.
Babcock shoots in for a takedown but Pierre shows good takedown defense. Pierre misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pierre moves in looking to clinch but Babcock pushes him off. Babcock avoids the head kick by Pierre.
Pierre fails in his attempt to clinch. Pierre misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Babcock shoots in for a double leg but Pierre sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Pierre tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Babcock tries to clinch up but Pierre circles away and keeps his distance. Pierre throws a head kick but Babcock moves out of range.
Pierre throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babcock looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pierre is fending him off so far but Babcock persists. Nope, Pierre circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Babcock. That's going to take a lot out of him. A good leg kick by Pierre. Pierre getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Babcock fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pierre throws a sloppy head kick and Babcock moves out of range easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babcock dodges the punch combination from Pierre.
Babcock blocks a head kick by Pierre.
Pierre tries to clinch up and Babcock counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Babcock will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Babcock looks to score with a jab to the body but Pierre is just out of range. Babcock is breathing heavily. Pierre circles away from the clinch attempt and Pierre counters with a two punch combo.
Babcock is rocked! Babcock throws a leg kick but Pierre checks it. Oh Babcock is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pierre moves into the clinch successfully.
Babcock seems to have got his legs back now. Pierre manages to break the clinch.
Babcock wants to clinch but Pierre slips to the side and Pierre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Babcock tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pierre swats him away and circles back towards the center. A kick lands to the mid section there for Pierre. Pierre lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Pierre lands a hook that stumbles Babcock back into the cage. Pierre follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Babcock to the canvas! Pierre pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Babcock has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Saint Pierre!
