Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between So Nasty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Garris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Garris's choice of entrance music: Blowin Money Fast by: Rick Ross. So Nasty has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, So Nasty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Garris!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garris throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nasty checks the leg kick nicely there.
Nasty misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Garris lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A clash of legs there as Nasty blocks the low kick.
Garris displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nasty.
Garris misses with a low kick.
Nasty closes the distance and clinches up with Garris, looking for a takedown. Nasty pushes Garris against the cage but Garris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for So Nasty. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garris smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Garris fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nasty manages to avoid it.
Garris takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Garris will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nasty shoots in but Garris avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Garris swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

No luck for Nasty with that takedown attempt.

Garris fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Nasty to the ground. Garris is now in Nasty's guard.

Nasty fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Garris on the side of the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Garris darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Nasty gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Garris counters with a low kick, right behind Nasty 's knee.

and Garris counters with a thumping low kick.

Rex Garris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nasty shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garris as he avoids it easily.
Nasty has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Garris.
A nice inside leg kick there by Garris. That's going to slow Nasty down.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Garris.

That kick from Garris tenderised Nasty's leg. Nasty is trying to keep his angry face on.

Garris lands a nice leg kick that just misses Nasty's sensitive parts.

Garris fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nasty, pushing him back against the cage.

Nasty is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Nasty goes for a takedown attempt but Garris pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Garris bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nasty's head backwards.

Garris comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Garris landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

It looks like So Nasty has been cut.
Nasty has Garris pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Garris manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Garris throws a right and a left that Nasty avoids nicely.
Garris lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Garris buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Garris darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Garris stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Nasty gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Nasty gets tackled into the cage by Garris. Garris maintains the clinch.

Nasty has Garris pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Garris manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Nasty tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Garris swivels and escapes.

Nasty shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Garris eats them both and turns towards Nasty to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Nasty counters with a single leg into guard. Garris didn't expect that.
Garris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nasty drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Garris manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nasty has Garris in his guard.

Nasty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rex Garris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Garris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nasty was covering up waiting for the punch and Garris finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Garris stands and steps away. Nasty gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

So Nasty has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Garris fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Nasty is out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nasty enables Garris to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nasty manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nasty has control of Garris's left arm, preventing Garris from doing any damage.

Nasty is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Nasty is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Garris has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rex Garris is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Nasty wants to work for an arm triangle but Garris is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Nasty misses with a head shot. Garris uses the momentum to regain guard.
Nasty throwing strikes but missing.
Nasty sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Garris's guard.
Nasty wants to advance to full mount but Garris doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nasty has gone for a leg lock! Garris slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nasty's guard.
Garris must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Garris gets to his feet - Nasty follows without any prompting.
Garris misses with a leg kick.
Garris is looking to slow Nasty down with leg kicks.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Garris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
