Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, James Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Asbjoern Andersson! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andersson misses with a wild combination.
Miller gets tackled into the cage by Andersson. Andersson maintains the clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Andersson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Miller has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Miller blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Andersson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Miller is defending well for now. Come on Miller - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Andersson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Miller is defending well for now. Andersson misses with a knee to the head. Miller works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Andersson controls Miller momentarily but Miller frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller working some strikes from top position. Miller tries to stand but Andersson is controlling from the bottom. Miller trying to control the position from guard on top but Andersson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller wants to stand but Andersson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Andersson pulls Miller in close to prevent any damage. Andersson looking to control.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Asbjoern Andersson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Andersson shoots in looking for a takedown. Miller tries to sprawl out of it but Andersson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Miller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Andersson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A bit of stalling here from Miller.

Andersson looks gassed! Miller stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Miller gets the takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Miller cracks Andersson with a big right hand but Andersson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Andersson tries to bench press Miller off him but Miller keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miller in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Miller misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller decides to stand back up. Miller gets a clinch. Miller lands a hook that snaps the head of Andersson backwards. Miller tries to break the clinch but Andersson is controlling the position. Andersson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Andersson is fighting it off but Miller persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Andersson's guard against the cage. Miller stands up from guard. Let's bang! Miller looks to land a combination but Andersson avoids it well. Miller shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Miller showed some decent athleticism there. This has been an exciting period of action! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Miller scoring with strikes to the body and head. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Miller lands a nice short elbow. Miller is keen to just control but Andersson is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Andersson is trying to get back to full guard. Andersson is not content to let Miller control the position. Andersson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Miller is working away from the top position though. Miller is pressing down on Andersson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Andersson is holding on for now. Miller stands up out of the half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Andersson shoots and misses and Miller counters with a single leg into guard. Andersson didn't expect that. Miller works a leg free and moves into half guard. Miller trying to mount his opponent but Andersson defends it. Miller is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Andersson is just riding it out for now. Miller eventually gives up the hold. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Miller dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

Miller closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Andersson landing knees to the head.

Andersson misses with a knee to the head. Miller is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Andersson can't fight it off and eventually Miller manages to take the fight to the floor. Andersson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Andersson has a closed guard, preventing Miller from standing up. James Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Miller with a flurry of punches that miss. Miller decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Andersson, up you get!

Andersson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Miller clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Andersson tries to stall but Miller uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Miller is trying to push Andersson away but Andersson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sloppy strikes from Miller. Those never looked like landing. Andersson clinches. Miller successfully pulls guard.
Miller might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Miller wants to stand and escape but Andersson is having none of it. Andersson controls from within his opponent's guard. Miller looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Andersson wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.
Asbjoern Andersson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Miller throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Andersson was covering up waiting for the punch and Miller finishes the takedown easily into guard. Miller tries to free his leg and advance position but Andersson is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller wants to stand and escape but instead Andersson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Miller has control of Andersson's left arm, preventing Andersson from doing any damage. Andersson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Miller is proving hard to escape from. Andersson wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Miller is adopting a defensive guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Miller keeping full guard, as Andersson tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that James Miller will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Miller scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Andersson is looking to control Miller's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Andersson avoid being mounted? Miller gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Miller closes the distance and pushes Andersson back into the cage. Miller wants to get back to striking at distance but Andersson won't allow it.
Andersson looking to slow down the pace here. Andersson lands a good knee to the midsection. Miller won't want to take too many of those. Andersson tries to stall but Miller uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Miller jumps guard but Andersson stands there with Miller around his waist. Miller gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Miller works on Andersson's body with a couple of short punches. Miller has clasped his hands together around Andersson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Miller connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Andersson some visible discomfort.
Andersson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Miller looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Andersson is looking to take a break and control but Miller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Instead, Miller manages to get to full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Miller controlling Andersson's posture. Andersson is looking to advance position but Miller has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Miller looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Miller landing punches. Miller looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Miller wants to finish this one by submission but Andersson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Miller. Miller landing punches.

Asbjoern Andersson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Miller is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Miller controlling from the full mount. Andersson is looking to improve his position but Miller isn't that keen on the idea. And that's the end of the fight! James Miller showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Miller, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
