Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hoss Typhoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hoss Typhoon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dean Sparks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Typhoon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sparks.

Sparks tries to sprawl but Typhoon drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sparks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Typhoon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sparks won't allow Typhoon to pass to mount.
Sparks is trying to get back to full guard.
Typhoon seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Sparks is defending against the submission attempts here by Typhoon.

Sparks has one foot on Typhoon's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Sparks gets tackled into the cage by Typhoon. Typhoon maintains the clinch.

Sparks is fighting off a takedown attempt but Typhoon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sparks to the mat. Sparks regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Typhoon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Sparks should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Typhoon throws a strike but Sparks rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sparks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Typhoon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sparks's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Hoss Typhoon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Typhoon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hoss Typhoon dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sparks displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Typhoon throws out the jab.

Typhoon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sparks to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Sparks has gone for a leg lock! Typhoon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sparks's guard.
Sparks wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dean Sparks hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sparks fails with the takedown.
Sparks dives in and grabs Typhoon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Typhoon pushes down on Sparks's head and hops out.

Typhoon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Sparks's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Sparks is working to get back to half guard.
Sparks tries to hold on but Typhoon postures up.

Typhoon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Sparks is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Typhoon cracks Sparks with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Typhoon breaks from Sparks's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Typhoon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Typhoon goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sparks turns into him and now he's in Typhoon's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hoss Typhoon dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Typhoon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sparks did well to prevent Typhoon getting side control.

Sparks might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Typhoon kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Typhoon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sparks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Typhoon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sparks is looking to escape.
Sparks's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Typhoon goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sparks is on top in guard.

Sparks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Typhoon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sparks has managed to get both his arms back between Typhoon's legs - danger averted.

Typhoon looking for a sweep. Not yet Typhoon, not yet.
Typhoon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sparks manages to get himself to full guard.
Sparks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sparks connects with a nice short shot to Typhoon's temple.
Typhoon moves into full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dean Sparks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hoss Typhoon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Typhoon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
