Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lorenzo Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damon Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Acevedo comes to the cage accompanied by Mr. Roboto. Lorenzo Acevedo has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lorenzo Acevedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damon Cross! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cross stuffs the takedown. Acevedo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Acevedo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Cross lands a slapping body shot.
Acevedo tries for a takedown but Cross sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Acevedo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cross is fending him off so far but Acevedo persists. Nope, Cross circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lorenzo Acevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cross moves out of range as Acevedo throws a body kick.
Acevedo misses with a left hand and Cross counters with a lovely shot to the body. Acevedo tries to clinch and Cross decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Acevedo's guard. Cross trying to control the position from guard on top but Acevedo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cross must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cross content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acevedo is looking for a triangle but Cross pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cross wants to pass the guard but Acevedo is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cross controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Damon Cross. Acevedo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross wants to get back to full guard. Acevedo is controlling the pace.
Cross is trying to maintain the position but Acevedo is very close to passing his half guard. Acevedo is taking a breather. Cross says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Acevedo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acevedo wants to take a breather but Cross is having none of it. Cross really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Acevedo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Lorenzo Acevedo just wasn't active enough. Acevedo gets tackled into the cage by Cross. Cross maintains the clinch. Cross gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Acevedo regains guard.
Cross trying to control the position from guard on top but Acevedo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cross with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Damon Cross. Acevedo wants to clinch but Cross slips to the side and Cross counters with a nice kick to the body. Acevedo misses with a series of wild punches.
Acevedo misses with a takedown and Cross counters with a flying knee. Nice. Acevedo is looking to clinch but Cross is avoiding it.
Acevedo tries to clinch and Cross moves into the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Acevedo is trying to break free. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Acevedo looking for a takedown. Acevedo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cross avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damon Cross dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cross changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Acevedo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Cross working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Cross scores with punches from side control. Cross controls the position. Acevedo regains half guard there - taking advantage of Cross's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Cross looks to land a strike but Acevedo avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Acevedo can't keep his opponent in guard - Cross advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Cross is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross working the head and body with strikes. Acevedo is refusing to be controlled, as Cross sits in half guard. It looks like Cross is going to stand back up.
Cross is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Damon Cross has got the better of the ground game so far.
Damon Cross has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Acevedo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cross drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cross controls the position. Cross is breathing heavily. Cross working the body and head with strikes. Cross trying to control the action but Acevedo is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross is putting a hurting on Acevedo here, landing some big shots from side control. Cross wants to control but Acevedo is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Acevedo's face as Cross controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Cross sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Acevedo is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cross moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Cross working away. Cross goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Acevedo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cross's guard! Nice work there by Acevedo! Cross working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Acevedo. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Acevedo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Cross being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damon Cross showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Acevedo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Crunch! Acevedo slams his shin into Cross's torso. Cross throws a head kick but Acevedo moves out of range.
Acevedo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cross has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Acevedo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cross defends it nicely. Acevedo doesn't manage to clinch there - Cross circles away.
Acevedo misses with a takedown attempt - Cross sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nice takedown defense from Cross. No joy for Acevedo on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lorenzo Acevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acevedo moves in looking to clinch but Cross pushes him off. Acevedo shoots in looking for a takedown but Cross manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Acevedo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Cross connects with a body shot. Cross shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Acevedo manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cross looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Acevedo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross preventing the sweep. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cross accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Acevedo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Acevedo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cross not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cross wants to control from the top but Acevedo keeps moving. Cross sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Damon Cross was stalling too much, according to the referee. Acevedo shoots in for a double leg but Cross sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Cross with a body punch. A glancing blow. Acevedo tries to clinch up but Cross circles away and keeps his distance. Acevedo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cross. That did some damage! Acevedo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Cross gets a takedown into half guard. Acevedo is not content to let Cross control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cross is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Cross prevents Acevedo from standing back up.
Cross is pressing down on Acevedo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Acevedo is holding on for now. Cross throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Damon Cross is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Cross stops Acevedo from getting back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Cross controlling the action here.
And that's the end of the fight! Damon Cross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Cross winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
