Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stone Kirby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerry Jango!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jango misses with a kick to the body
and Kirby counters with a crisp right hand that drops Jango! Kirby lets Jango back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
It looks like Jerry Jango has been cut.
Kirby throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kirby moves into range and connects with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kirby moves into the clinch successfully.
Jango can't break the clinch.
Kirby throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Jango wants a takedown but no success here.
Jango is trying to break the clinch but Kirby has him pressed against the cage.
Kirby lands with a short shot to the head.
Kirby lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jango backwards.
Kirby lands a shoulder strike.
Jango is rocked!
Jango looks gassed!
Kirby manages to break the clinch.
Kirby closes the distance and clinches.
Kirby blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jango looking for a takedown.
Kirby breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kirby thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jango if he has to take too many more of those.
Kirby scores with a spinning back kick!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kirby will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kirby feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jango sprawling to the canvas! Jango rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kirby finish him?!
Jango is still on wobbly legs! Can Kirby finish him?
Jango stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kirby.
Jango seems to have recovered his senses.
Kirby throws a nice inside leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kirby.
Kirby feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jango sprawling to the canvas! Jango rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kirby finish him?!
Kirby gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Stone Kirby is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kirby closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Jango out cold! Jango corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
