Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Donatelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darius Iii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donatelli comes to the cage accompanied by I Sell Comics - Courage My Love. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iii drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Donatelli sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Donatelli pushes Iii off and gets back to his feet.
Iii throws a nice looking combination but Donatelli bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Iii is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Donatelli's half guard.

Donatelli slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Donatelli has his hands on Iii's head, controlling the position.
Donatelli is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Iii has hold of one of Donatelli's legs. Donatelli is fighting the takedown attempt but Iii gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Iii wants to control from the top but Donatelli keeps moving.
Donatelli is looking for a triangle but Iii pushes his legs off easily.
Donatelli is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Iii is defending against the submission attempts here by Donatelli.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Donatelli content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Iii trying to hold on to Donatelli's head to control him but Donatelli postures up.

Donatelli works his foot free and advances to mount.
Donatelli takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Donatelli is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Iii has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Iii is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Donatelli shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Iii is on queer street and Donatelli is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
