Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duke Gibbons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drasek Riven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Duke Gibbons! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Drasek Riven! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riven throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Riven rushes Gibbons and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Gibbons manages to break the clinch.

Riven shoots in looking for a takedown. Gibbons tries to sprawl out of it but Riven keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gibbons manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gibbons circles away from the clinch attempt and Gibbons counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sloppy strikes from Gibbons. Those never looked like landing. Riven is looking to clinch but Gibbons is avoiding it.
Riven does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Gibbons keeps the fight on the outside. Riven looks to land a left hand but Gibbons moved out of range nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riven throws a lazy uppercut
and Gibbons counters with a nice body shot. Gibbons misses with a wild combination.
Gibbons defending well as Riven loads up on a big left hand. Riven dives in and grabs Gibbons's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gibbons pushes down on Riven's head and hops out. Gibbons scores with a three punch combo!
It looks like Drasek Riven has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Riven feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Riven looking to pass the guard. Gibbons manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gibbons is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Riven. Riven throws a series of punches but Gibbons avoids them all with ease.

Gibbons fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Riven looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Riven looks gassed! Riven throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Gibbons to counter with a crisp jab. Riven takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Riven misses with the combination.
Gibbons throws a right and a left that both miss. Gibbons shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Riven eats them both and turns towards Gibbons to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Riven avoids the body shot from Gibbons.
Riven has a takedown stuffed. Duke Gibbons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drasek Riven.

Gibbons lands with a hook. Riven tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Gibbons tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Riven manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gibbons lands a lovely overhand right. Gibbons misses with a wild combination.
Riven looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Riven throws a right hand that Gibbons ducks under and follows up with a left that Gibbons also avoids with ease.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A combination from Gibbons does no damage. Riven blocks a head kick by Gibbons.
Riven keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gibbons. Riven throws the left hand but Gibbons avoids the punch easily. Riven loads up on a big right hand but Gibbons slips the punch. Riven uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gibbons.
Riven walks into a left hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gibbons misses with a jab, cross combination.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Riven shoots in looking for a takedown but Gibbons manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Riven's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gibbons looks to land a combination but Riven avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Riven looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gibbons is one step ahead there. Gibbons wanted to stand there but Riven had control of the position. Gibbons has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibbons stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riven swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gibbons wants to stand but Riven is controlling his posture from full guard. Riven wants to sweep but no luck. Gibbons would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Riven has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Gibbons has passed into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Riven dodges the ground and pound from Gibbons. Gibbons tries to stand but Riven controls the position and pulls Gibbons into his guard. Riven looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Gibbons has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Riven is proving hard to escape from. Riven is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Riven wants to sweep but no luck.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gibbons got a little sloppy there for a moment and Riven has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gibbons has managed to get both his arms back between Riven's legs - danger averted. Gibbons won't allow Riven to sweep him here. Gibbons working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gibbons wants to control from the top but Riven keeps moving. Gibbons trying to stand up but can't free himself from Riven's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gibbons gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Riven takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gibbons escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibbons takes a swing at Riven's ribcage but misses. Gibbons lands a really nice looking cross but Riven seems unphased.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Riven misses with a straight right. Duke Gibbons is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Riven on the wrong end of a nice hook. Riven takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Riven throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gibbons counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Riven is rocked! Riven misses with a double jab.
Gibbons misses with the combination.
Riven closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gibbons's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibbons controlling the position. Riven won't allow Gibbons to get back to his feet. Gibbons trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Gibbons is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gibbons being controlled here, momentarily. Gibbons is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Duke Gibbons overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gibbons stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gibbons wants it to stay on the feet. Duke Gibbons is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big right from Riven misses. Drasek Riven has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gibbons looks for the body kick but Riven saw that one coming. Riven tries to close the distance and clinch but Gibbons swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Riven fails with a takedown attempt. Gibbons lands a right hook to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gibbons stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gibbons wants it to stay on the feet. Gibbons scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Gibbons connects with a leg kick. Riven looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
And that's the end of the fight! Duke Gibbons showed his dominance in that final round. Well Gibbons has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
