The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Michaels misses its intended target.
Vera throws a hook but Michaels avoids it easily.
Vera bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Vera throws a left that rocks Michaels and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Vera dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Michaels regain composure!

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Vera wants to lay and pray for a moment but Michaels keeps working.

Vera cracks Michaels with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Vera has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Michaels's face.
