PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krayzor Windfather (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Krayzor Windfather!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Windfather shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Windfather was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Evans bucks up and throws Windfather to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
Evans tries to close the distance and clinch but Windfather swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Evans moves in looking to clinch but Windfather pushes him off.

Windfather shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Evans's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Evans is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Windfather with shots to the head and body - Evans looks very uncomfortable down there.
Windfather landing strikes from the mount and Evans is in trouble!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

You get the feeling that Evans really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Windfather can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Evans is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

and Windfather counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Windfather takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Evans throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Evans misses with a two punch combination.
Windfather shoots for a double leg takedown but Evans sprawls well. He's pushed Windfather's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Evans throws a combination. Windfather tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Evans swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Evans slow jab from Windfather misses its intended target.
Windfather fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Windfather closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Evans is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Windfather asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Windfather creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Evans takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Windfather is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Evans is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Evans is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Windfather asserts his dominance and retains side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Windfather decides to stand back up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Windfather blocks a head kick by Evans.
Evans misses the jab.
Windfather keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krayzor Windfather dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Windfather tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Evans swivels and escapes.
Evans moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Evans misses with the combination.

Evans is looking to clinch.
A jab lands there for Windfather.
Evans tries to close the distance and clinch but Windfather swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Evans lands a really nice looking cross but Windfather seems unphased.
Windfather has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Windfather misses with a few strikes there.
Evans tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Windfather looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Windfather changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Windfather is looking to take a break and control but Evans is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Windfather tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Evans wants to get back to his feet.

Windfather is working to tighten is grip on Evans's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Evans has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Windfather is really squeezing tight and eventually Evans passes out! Windfather breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
