The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pienarr breaks from the clinch.
Pienarr lands a left and a right that send Davis crashing to the mat, dazed. Pienarr thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Mark Davis has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pienarr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Davis somewhat.
Pienarr moves into the clinch successfully.
Pienarr is pressed up against the cage. Davis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pienarr down to the mat. Pienarr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pienarr as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davis tries for a takedown but Pienarr sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Pienarr closes the distance and clinches.
Pienarr gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Davis.
Pienarr breaks from the clinch.
A nice inside leg kick there by Pienarr. That's going to slow Davis down.
Davis is breathing heavily.
Pienarr comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Pienarr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Pienarr lands a big uppercut and Davis crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Davis looks OK. Pienarr waves Davis back to his feet!
Davis gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Bakkis Pienarr!
