Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buffalo Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Last Caress. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Benson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buffalo Bob!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bob instigates a clinch.
A short uppercut from Bob.
Benson tries to pull guard but Bob won't allow it.
Bob lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Benson backwards.
Bob misses with a knee strike.
Benson goes for a takedown attempt but Bob pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Bob drives through and clinches with Benson against the cage.
Bob throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bensons head.

Bob jumps into guard, dragging Benson to the mat.

Bob manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Bob has taken the fight to the clinch.

Bob decides to pull guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Benson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bob swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Benson is looking to work some ground and pound but Bob has wrist control.
Benson stops Bob from standing up.

Benson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Bob wants to stand and escape but Benson is having none of it.
Benson wants to pass the guard but Bob is keeping the position.
Bob wants to stand up but Benson is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Benson gets tackled into the cage by Bob. Bob maintains the clinch.
Bob lands a hook that snaps the head of Benson backwards.

Benson goes for a takedown attempt but Bob pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bob really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bob wants to stand but Benson is controlling the position.
Benson stands and throws Bob's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Bob is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

The referee asks Benson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Benson prefers to stall for the moment though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benson lands a nice forearm strike.
Benson controlling the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Benson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bob for as long as he can get away with.
Benson works to advance to full mount. Bob defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Bob is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bob can do anything to dispel that myth.

Benson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bob lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Bob.
Benson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bob avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Bob pushes Benson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Benson is trying to drag Bob to the mat but Bob just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Benson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bob is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Benson dives into side control.

Benson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Benson has hold of Bob's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bob manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bob wants to stand but Benson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Benson pulls Bob in close to his closed guard and prevents Bob from doing any damage or advancing position.

Bob is fighting to break Benson's control of his arms but Benson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Benson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bob!
Bob wants to try and get back to his feet.

Bob has left one of his arms exposed and Benson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Bob screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
