Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Key kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is EYELID - REGENERATE. Don Key has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chad Silver!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver avoids the body shot from Key.
Key scores with a jab to the head.
Silver takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A good leg kick by Key.
Key misses with a wild body shot.
Key throws a leg kick but Silver checks it.

Silver tries to keep at a distance but Key has taken the fight into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Key's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Silver drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Key gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Key tries to break free but Silver pushes him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silver fails to pull guard.

Key pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Silver bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Crunch! Key slams his shin into Silver's torso.
Key pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Key has Silver up against the cage in a clinch.
Key tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Silver wants a takedown.
Don Key has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Silver.
Key tries to break free but Silver pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Key pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Key scores with a leg kick.
Key throws a push kick but Silver slaps the foot to one side.
Key is looking to land body kicks.
Don Key seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silver shoots in looking for a takedown but Key manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silver's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Key misses with a looping right.
Key throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Silver sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Key lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silver shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Key's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Key has control of Silver's left arm, preventing Silver from doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Key keeping full guard, as Silver tries to pass.
Silver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Silver passes Key's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Silver is looking to take a break and control but Key is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Key keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Silver is stalling here. Key is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Silver seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Key has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Silver's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Key throws a strike aimed at the side of Silver's head but Silver avoids it well.
Key is trying to ground and pound but Silver uses the momentary lack of control by Key to regain half guard.
Key wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silver keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Key dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Key fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Silver is out of range.
Key ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Key moves in looking to clinch but Silver pushes him off.
Key misses with a low kick.
Key throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silver takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Key throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Silver misses with a looping right.
Nice shot lands for Key.
Some bone on bone action there as Silver checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Key throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Key throws a head kick that Silver semi-blocks.
Silver shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silver moves out of range of the body kick from Key.
Key swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Silver.
Key scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Don Key is winning the standup battle so far.
Silver moves out of range as Key throws a body kick.
Key scores with a sloppy right hand. Silver should have avoided that one.
Key throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Silver's head.


Silver is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Key scores with a nice body kick.
Silver is still on wobbly legs! Can Key finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silver gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Key gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Silver is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Don Key!
