Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dong Chim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Perry Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cox has chosen Solitaire Unraveling as his entrance music. Perry Cox told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dong Chim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Perry Cox! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chim steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cox. Cox looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sloppy strikes from Cox. Those never looked like landing. Cox takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Chim scores with a jab. Chim swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cox tries to land a front kick but Chim steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Cox misses with a two punch combination.
That kick from Cox tenderised Chim's leg. Chim is trying to keep his angry face on. Chim thows a body shot but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chim cracks Cox with an open hand slap. Chim fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cox to the ground. Chim is now in Cox's guard. Chim working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Chim trying to control the position from guard on top but Cox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cox preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Chim passes easily into side control. Nice work. Chim scores with punches from side control. Chim in side control, throwing shots but Cox defends. The strikes coming from Chim are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Cox is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cox avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Chim. Chim in side control, throwing shots but Cox defends. Chim landing a few strikes. The strikes coming from Chim are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chim landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Cox is working to avoid the ground and pound but Chim connects with a decent elbow. Cox parries the strikes from Chim easily there. Chim is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cox to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chim works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Chim creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cox sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Cox managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Chim.
Chim scoring with punches from side control. Cox is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Cox is staying active underneath Chim, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cox taking some punishment here, with Chim in his half guard. Chim is looking to advance position but Cox won't allow it. Chim is looking to take a break and control but Cox is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Chim is taking a breather. Cox says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Chim trying to control the action but Cox is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cox is trying to stand up here but Chim is controlling him well. Cox pushes Chim off and gets back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cox takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Chim moves out of range of the strikes. Perry Cox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chim jabbing away but nothing is landing. Cox steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chim. Cox throws a nice inside leg kick. Cox throws a head kick but Chim moves out of range.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Chim scores with a sloppy right hand. Cox should have avoided that one. Cox thows a left - swing and a miss! Cox swings widly with a right hand
and Chim counters with a nice uppercut. Chim throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cox. The fighters circling - Cox throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Chim throws a hook to the side of Cox's head but Cox sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Chim thows a left - swing and a miss! Cox throws out a loose jab but Chim uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Cox wants to clinch up but Chim keeps it at a distance. Chim smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Chim throws a chopping leg kick but Cox manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Cox ducks under a wild hook from Chim. Cox moves out of range as Chim throws a body kick.

Chim thows a body shot but no joy.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Chim misses with an uppercut
and Cox counters with a nice uppercut. Sloppy strikes from Cox. Those never looked like landing. Chim misses the shot to the body. Cox takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Cox fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Chim uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cox. Chim throws a body punch but Cox moves out of range. Chim throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cox counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Chim ducks under a wild hook from Cox. Cox throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. This has been an exciting period of action! Chim throws a nice inside leg kick. Cox lands a big head kick that sends Chim to the canvas! Cox follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Perry Cox!
